What we collect

The site has no accounts, forms or comments, so it never asks for your details. Like any website, the server sees basic technical information when a page loads, such as the time of the visit and the browser type. It is used to keep the site running and to produce visit statistics. IP addresses are never stored in readable form.

Cookies and visit statistics

The home page sets a first-party cookie that holds a random session ID for 30 days. It lets the site count unique visits and which links are used. With each visit the site records that session ID, the approximate country, the referring site and the browser type, alongside a one-way hash of the IP address. If the page shows local content, a second cookie holds your nearest large city for one hour. There are no advertising cookies and nothing is shared with advertisers.
